Merry Christmas!

So at 2:30 this morning my nephew says that we should go take a ride and check out this house in Midlothian.  So my other nephew and we climb in the van and go check it out.  Very tastefully done, and the music was actually broadcast from his house on FM radio which is the sign that says "Tune To 105.7".  After that we ended up at Nonna's Pizza in Crestwood for a couple of slices.  Yeah, Merry Christmas.

Firing Up The XBOX One!

My nephew and I picked up his new XBOX One at midnight and hurried home to fire it up. Oh the humanity!

Natural Beauty?

Ok, aside from my crudely drawn Paint hilarity, does anyone else see something strange about this chick? And no, before the sophomoric comments start flying, I wasn't looking at porn. I get all kinds of pics on my random pics generator, sometimes they just happen to be naked.

Click Me!

Yep, someone was watching "King Arthur" again today.

Time Lapse Rebuild

Aggie and Mike like to do things together. Watch as they rebuild Mike's 79 Duster over a six month period in this cool time lapse video. Very nice.

Throwing The Horns!

When young Jocelyn feels like letting it all hang out, does she reach for Taylor Swift, Miley or perhaps even the incredible musical stylings of Kanye?  Hell no she don't!  She asks for the Dio!

"Ronnie James Dio.  Even a toddler knows."

And So It Begins...

My Buddy Guy joins my Greg Koch.  I think I found something else to start collecting.  Ya think this will be cheaper than guitars? So far, so good.  Much cheaper.

Dental Blues

The other day my nephew's girlfriend, Karis, mentioned that some famous musician had stopped in at the dentist's office where she worked to make an appointment.  After a couple of questions I figured out who he was and she said he would be in Tuesday.  I was not gonna miss this.

I went to the internet and found a great action shot with a nice light background for signing.  I made one for my nephew and myself and even enclosed a nice black Sharpie in the envelope along with our names for personalization.

Tonight she brought over this.  She said he is a great "guy" and he was honored to sign them for her/us.  Very cool.

Laziness is The Mother of Invention

What to do when the little visiting dog likes to run and you just can't be bothered with walking him around on a leash? Tie him up to the old dog that doesn't run and let him deal with it!

Eyes Wide Open

Ok, how many of you had "ON TV" back in like '79, '80 or so?  I remember one night I was left home alone and watched my first porn on here.  It was called "Ginger" from 1971.  Yes, this movie had it all.  Memories...

ON TV was a precursor to cable tv that was only available in a few markets, Chicago being one of them.  Check out this Wikipedia for some pretty cool info on how they did this magical technology back then.   ON TV on Wikipedia

Blind Faith

Reap what you sow, and then turn away

Life is not by design, it's designed by fate.

At the vanishing point is where the present will stop

What lies beyond that, I know not.

The Road

Asphalt highways, and concrete roads
The on ramps of life, the exits of old.
Some journeys begin, some journeys wane
Fleeting paths, never crossed again.

On through the night, and into the dark
Miles to go, take it out of park.
The search goes on, for what’s never found
The past in the mirror, I can’t turn around.

Sunsets Of Innocence

Somewhere in time, it all seemed so clear.  The world was much smaller then.  The trials and tribulations of maturity had yet to begin.

In the days of my youth, as the summer day began its evening surrender I would often look to the west before the gloaming.

The sky seemed so vivid then, purples and oranges ablaze as the sun left us to light up the other side of the world.  Contrails fading from sight as birds chirped their farewell calls.  Streetlights and porch lights pressed into their nightly service.  Dirty hands and knees headed for home to the aromas of various family dinners on the tables waiting for all to gather.

I recall at that age telling myself to never forget these images, to tuck them away in the back of my mind.  In those brief moments many summers past nothing else mattered.

Sunsets of innocence, till I see you again.

Kindling sun, burning flame
Moonlight shallow, given to blame
Oceans of blue, seas of green
Future and past, caught in between

Crackling leaves, blizzard of change
Fields in bloom, birthing again
Rainbow aloft, cannot possibly last
Caught in between, future and past.
