See You In Hell My Friend!

I'm not really a big Halloween type but as long as we are here lemme give to you all a link to what they say is the most haunted place in the world!  And Wil has actually been there a couple of times back in his younger days!

Bachelor's Grove Cemetery in Midlothian, Illinois is indeed a creepy frickin' place. I remember going there once or twice with my Dad back in the 70's in the daytime to collect beer cans (LOL) but the fun times were back in the mid 80's when we would go out there at nighttime to drink and smoke left handed cigarettes. We all knew the stories and had heard a couple of friends of ours describe being held down by some unknown force and beaten with a belt or some shite like that. Yeah, do another hit dude. Did I ever actually see anything? I do have to admit I did see the mysterious blue light off in the distance that no one can explain the origin of. Ooh, scary kids!

The place has been overrun and most all of the tombstones broken and tipped over since I can remember. It really is a shame to think that some people are actually buried there in what is pretty much a forgotten cemetery outside of the haunting and paranormal buffs.

Go and check it out, if you dare!

Walkers

Another pleasant valley Sunday here peeps. Not much on the docket for today, have to pace myself you know.

The Hawks played a good game last night downing Columbus 5-2. They'll host the Nashville Predators who are also off to a good start this season Monday night at The UC. The Preds are our Central Division rivals and they always play the Hawks tough and are a pain in the ass. They don't score much but they don't give up much either and netminder Pekka Rinne is quickly rising to elite goalie status in the NHL. This will be the first of many meetings this season and it should be good.

Being as I don't have the room anymore to put all of my guitars out on display I now keep it down to 2 out at a time. The silver Strat has been a staple and lately I've been hitting up the Minarik pretty hard. So I basically have the Strat and The Les Paul tones, best of both worlds. I've probably put in a good 4-5 hours on the last 2 or 3 days and am pretty happy with my skill level right now.

Yay! Tonight is the 3rd episode of this season of "The Walking Dead" on AMC. I seldom "follow" many shows but when I saw the trailer for this last year I managed to get on board with the first episode and have caught every one of them since. It really is a good show, I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Wil will be dining tonight on a chicken breast, baked potato combo lovingly prepared by himself, in case you needed to know that. Oh the culinary delights!

Kick A Buck

Congratulations to the St. Louis Cardinals on their 11th World Series Championship last night, defeating the Texas Rangers in 7 games. This was truly a hell of a series that I think really came down to the Cardinals taking advantage of every Texas mistake. I have to admit, I didn't know St. Louis was that good but they just kept coming (Game 6!) and never gave up. I don't think there's a team in baseball that could have beaten them in this series. I was rooting for Texas in this series cause I would liked to have seen them win their first championship, especially since they came so close last year losing to the San Francisco Giants. I'm also an American Leaguer to begin with. In the end this is a series that will be talked about for a long time and deservedly so.

Also in sporting news last night, the Blackhawks just totally sucked. There wasn't a single player in an Indian Head sweater that looked like they knew what the hell was going on as they fell to the Carolina Hurricanes 3-0. Corey Crawford did the best he could to make 30 saves on pucks that seemed to be coming from every angle and everywhere last night. This was definitely the worst game I have seen them play so far in this young season and I am hoping it is the worst game I see out of them all season. Tonight they return home to host a hungry, desperate Columbus Blue Jackets squad so we'll see which Hawks team we get tonight.

In local news, I sat here and watched all of "Cool Hand Luke" early this morning on TV. I don't have to tell you how good of a movie this is/was. And what a cast of late 60s - early 70s icons! Paul Newman, George Kennedy, Joe Don Baker, Harry Dean Stanton, Dennis Hopper, etc. If you've never seen this movie, it is truly one of those must-see movies. Especially if you like a good car wash.

Fire!, Fire!

I did not manage to catch the return of Beavis & Butthead last night at 9 PM Central but thankfully I did get the replay at 1 AM.  I am pretty satisfied with this new offering.  It had that old familiar feel to it without seeming like, "I've seen all this before".  I do have to admit that out of the 4-5 "music video" clips they watched I had no clue who any of the performers were.  Yeah, it's like that.

Wow, how about that Game 6 of the World Series last night?  Holy frickin' roller coaster ride.  One of the best games I've seen in a long time, though there were definitely a lot of errors and mental gaffes.  Ha, I was just looking for a place to use the term "mental gaffes" today.  Game 7 is tonight, hoping for another great one.

Blackhawks Vs Hurricanes also tonight which in this case I'll be flipping back and forth with the aforementioned World Series game.  The Hawks should be done spanking Carolina by the time the Series gets into the later innings so it shouldn't be a problem.

Well, time to go and start some laundering and challenge a new day.  Yeah, "challenge" might be too strong of a word.

Oh Yeah, Me Too!

Well tonight for the first time in 14 or so years I will actually watch a show on MTV. Beavis & Butthead return to television tonight with all new episodes so I guess I better go and check it out. I was 25 when the duo premiered on what used to be "Music" Television which probably put me close to their target demographic. Now at 43 will it still hold any magic for me? Will I be one of those people decrying, "Well it's not as good as the original!". We shall see.

Huh

Well this is after all supposed to be an "online journal", at least that's what a blog was supposed to be when they were conceived. So maybe I should actually say something once in awhile. I've only done this whole blog thing for a total of what, 5-6 years now in 2-3 different incarnations? Well hell with it, I've got plenty of time on my hands now, guess I'll write down a few things. Whateva.
